If you have ever tasted sea water, you will think that someone must have dropped a lot of salt in it. But did you know that actually, humans take salt from the sea so you can put it on your food.

The salt is there because when it rains and the water flows into the rivers, the water picks up small amounts of salts from the rocks and soil on the bottom of the rivers. This salty water then continues until it reaches into the oceans and seas. Then because of the heat of the sun, the water in the oceans turns into a gas by evaporation, but the salt remains in the ocean because it cannot evaporate. So the remaining water gets saltier and saltier as time passes.
