Shallow water habitats are having a difficult time too. Coral reefs are being destroyed and Coral fish get taken out so young, before they can grow up and produce more fish.

Dynamiting or blast fishing, uses small bombs to kill fish. The result is that large areas of the coral reefs are being torn apart. Cyanide, a type of poison, is also being used. To catch fish with cyanide, fishermen dive down to the reef and squirt cyanide into the coral reefs. This stuns the fish and makes them easier to catch. These fish are then taken to aquariums around the world for people to look at. This way of fishing poisons the corals, leaving them behind to die. Even the caught fish will not live very long- they usually die just shortly afterwards.
